Lala Sewz (“we,” “us,” “our”) is run by Lauryn “Lala” Martin from North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit lalasewz.com or place an order, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to a minimum and never sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details — your name, email address, and (if you provide it) phone number, for example when you join the Lala Letter, reserve a quilt, or contact us.
• Order & shipping details — your shipping and billing address and the items you buy. Payment is processed by Shopify; we never see or store your full card number.
• Custom quilt materials — if you commission a memory quilt, the clothing and any photos or notes you send so we can make it.
• Messages — anything you write in our contact form or email to us.

Information collected automatically

• With your consent, analytics about how you use the site (see “Cookies & Analytics” below).
• Essential local storage in your browser to make the site work (your cart, accessibility settings, and your privacy choice) — this stays on your device and is not used to track you.

How we use your information

• To fulfill and deliver your orders, including digital downloads and custom quilts.
• To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
• To send the Lala Letter and order-related emails you’ve asked for.
• To understand and improve how the site works (only with your consent).
• To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Cookies & Analytics

We keep tracking to a minimum and ask before we measure anything. When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept or Decline analytics. Until you choose Accept, no analytics cookies are set — this is enforced through Google Consent Mode, which defaults analytics to denied. You can change your mind at any time (see “Withdrawing consent” below).

Essential storage (always on)

These are stored in your browser’s local storage to make the site work. They are first-party only, are never sold or shared, and are not used to track you across other websites — so they don’t require consent:

• Your cart (lala-cart-v1) — remembers the items you’ve added so your cart survives page loads.
• Accessibility preferences (lala-a11y) — remembers settings like larger text, higher contrast, or reduced motion.
• Your privacy choice (lala-consent) — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don’t ask again.
• The Lala Letter prompt (lala-letter) — remembers that you dismissed or joined our newsletter, so the invite doesn’t keep reappearing.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you Accept, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-Q4EY521L3X) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are helpful, how people arrive, and where things can improve. Google Analytics may set cookies and process data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address — GA4 does not log or store full IP addresses), device and browser type, and referring links. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site. We do not use it to build advertising profiles: ad storage, ad personalization, and ad-user-data are set to denied and are never granted.

Google acts as our data processor for this. You can read how Google handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out across all sites with Google’s Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Embedded content

• Video (YouTube). Videos are embedded using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com mode, and they only load after you click play. No YouTube cookies are set until you choose to watch a video.
• Checkout (Shopify). Reservations and purchases are completed through Shopify’s secure checkout. When you check out, Shopify processes your order and payment information under its own privacy terms as our checkout provider.

Withdrawing consent

Choosing Decline keeps analytics off. If you previously accepted and want to opt back out — or if you declined and want to opt in — you can clear this site’s data in your browser settings (which removes the saved lala-consent choice) to bring the banner back, or use the Google opt-out add-on linked above. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser; the site’s essential features will still work.

How we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed to do so:

• Shopify — secure checkout, payments, and order management.
• Mailchimp — sending the Lala Letter to subscribers.
• Google Analytics — website analytics, only if you consent.
• Resend — delivering contact-form messages to us by email.
• Cloudflare — website hosting and security.
• Shipping carriers (such as USPS and DHL) — to deliver your order.

Each processes your information under its own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Payments

All payments are processed by Shopify’s secure checkout. Your card details are handled by Shopify and its payment processors — we never receive or store them.

Your custom quilt materials

The clothing you send for a custom quilt is handled with care and used only to make your quilt. We’ll return leftover materials or handle them as agreed when you place your order.

Email marketing (the Lala Letter)

If you join the Lala Letter, we’ll email you updates, tips, and occasional offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We use Mailchimp to manage the list.

Data retention

We keep order and contact information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize it. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of marketing or analytics. To make a request, email lala@lalasewz.com and we’ll respond. You can opt out of analytics at any time by declining the cookie banner or clearing this site’s data.

Children’s privacy

Our site and products are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

We use reputable providers (Shopify, Cloudflare, and others) and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmitting data over the internet is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. We’ll post the new version here with an updated date.
